Job Title – Engineering Project Manager (15 Month Fixed-Term Contract / Maternity Cover)

Reporting to the Programme Integration Manager, the successful candidate will undertake project management and control activities in support of the PHASA-35 Engineering development work packages. Working closely with the PHASA-35 Engineering leadership team, this role will be instrumental in translating the company’s Engineering goals into realistic schedules, budgets and risks. Before monitoring and controlling progress against these tools. Enabling the Engineering teams to deliver the agreed scope of work in line with best project management practices.

This is a hybrid role based at Prismatic’s Alton facility in Hampshire. A minimum of three days of office-based work a week is expected, based on the experience of the individual.

Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Day-to-day co-ordination of the PHASA-35 Engineering work packages to ensure adherence in line with the baseline plan.
  • All aspects of the work packages, working in accordance with the established Prismatic project management processes (including monitoring and control of schedules, cost monitoring, management of risks etc.).
  • Configuration-control of work package artefacts (WBS, schedules etc.), allowing continual refinement based on the changing needs & requirements of the wider programme.
  • Clear communication and coordination between the multiple project stakeholders including Engineering leads, Engineering management team, finance team and Prismatic senior leadership team.
  • Preparation and provision of regular and accurate progress reports to the Prismatic senior leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Management of key project risks to ensure they are identified and captured with measurable and appropriate mitigation and contingency actions in place and driven to closure.
  • Identifying potential issues with the PHASA-35 development work. Leading the Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions and ensuring they are implemented.
  • In addition, the incumbent will be required to undertake other duties as assigned.

    • The ability to shape and plan projects through the application of appropriate methodologies, processes and tools, refining and enhancing a project schedule, resource estimates against an agreed baseline.
    • The ability to build morale among the teams and promote continuous improvement.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and particularly Project.
  • Experience of Engineering and manufacturing within the aerospace industry.
  • Understanding of LEAN techniques, Visual Controls and Data Visualisation software.
  • Ability to receive UK MoD security clearance (BC, CTC & SC).

Principal Terms and Conditions

  • Post – Fixed-term contract (15 Months)
  • Salary – to be agreed depending on experience.
  • Pension – 10% contribution from the company included.
  • Leave – 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Working time 37.5 hrs per week.
  • Location – Alton, Hampshire, UK.
