Prismatic was delighted to be invited to showcase two of our UAVs – PHASE-8 and LASA-5 – alongside other UK technologies on the UK’s latest aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales.

The event was organised by the Royal Navy’s CTO, Brigadier Cheesman, and allowed RN users, procurers and technologists to talk directly with the developers and suppliers of the advanced technologies to support the Royal Navy.

With our two PHASA-35 solar HALE UAVs in final testing for their next trials, we showed our 1/4 scale HALE technology demonstrator PHASE-8 and our pre-production variant of the LASA-5 low altitude close support UAV.

Even on the loveliest of Portsmouth days our highly efficient UAVs were eager to take off in the light breeze meaning we had to shelter behind the F35 ramp and use the rather substantive tie down points on the deck to hold the UAVs down.

A real pleasure to spend time on this majestic ship, built by our partners BAES.
