UAV Systems Engineer

Reporting to CTO and lead systems engineers, work as part of the systems engineering team on requirements definition, design, simulation, build and testing of the developmental PHASA-35 UAS.

Tasks and Accountabilities

Outline Job Profile

  • Work with Systems Engineering team in balancing, adapting and delivering the technical scope of the projects
  • Be responsible for elements of the design of UAV systems
  • Undertake requirements definition, management and conformance verification
  • Undertake modelling and simulation of UAV systems
  • Define and coordinate qualification and acceptance test campaigns for UAV systems in accordance with Prismatic Airworthiness plan and Engineering policies
  • Support flight-test and evaluation
  • Support the CTO and his team to create an inclusive workplace, championing collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications / Experience / Interests

Required

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Engineering or related subject
  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant industry
  • Experience of working in a dynamic delivery-focussed team, managing tension between specification and delivery

  • Experience of novel R&D programs, ideally with challenging ‘cutting edge’ technology
  • Experience of large UAV development
  • Experience of RF communications systems
  • Experience of UAS avionics hardware systems
  • Experience of building vehicles, robots or other complex systems
  • Experience of modelling and simulation in MATLAB, Python or similar high-level languages
