UAV Airworthiness and Quality Assurance Lead

Reports to CTO.

Lead the airworthiness and QA activity within Prismatic to ensure that the PHASA-35 system (including aircraft, payload and ground station) is fit for purpose and able to achieve type-certification in the future.

Tasks and Accountabilities

Outline Job Profile

  • Lead ‘hands-on’ development of quality assurance systems to support rapid technology development with a view toward supporting a future type-certified UAV product. These systems will include:
    • Engineering processes
    • Supplier quality
    • Qualification of design and acceptance of deliverables
    • Through-life support and maintenance
    • Parts and tool control
  • Define, document and disseminate evolving QA processes to the engineering, flight operations and certification teams   
  • Ensure that the defined QA processes are being correctly implemented
  • Oversee and ensure maintenance of records
  • Support certification team on regulator engagement
  • Support the CTO and his team to create an inclusive workplace, championing collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications / Experience / Interests


  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related subject
  • 5+ years experience in a relevant role in a relevant industry
  • Experience of working in a dynamic delivery-focussed team
  • Flexible in approach, not afraid to implement ‘light touch’ processes where appropriate

Some of the following may be beneficial

  • Experience of novel R&D programs, ideally with challenging ‘cutting edge’ technology
  • Experience within a Part 21 J&G approved organisation
Principal Terms and Conditions
  • Post – Permanent.
  • Salary – to be agreed.
  • Pension – 10% contribution from the company included.
  • Leave – 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Working time 37.5 hrs per week.
