We are currently looking for a Ground maintenance engineer (avionics) to join Prismatic Ltd. based in Alton.
Tasks and Accountabilities
- Support test flight trials inside and outside of UK, specifically preparing avionics for flight.
- Identify a problem, be able to communicate effectively to their supervisor and work as part of a team.
- Support supervisors in the generation and conducting of qualification and acceptance testing.
- Contribute to work packages and present results to peers.
- Work as part of a team to ensure flight readiness.
- Provide input into design from a Ground maintenance perspective.
- Support quality and product assurance.
- Engage with customers and key stakeholders.
- Conduct secondary tasks in support of the flight to ensure operational effectiveness.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Background in avionics engineering, aircraft maintenance, or electronics with hands-on experience.
- Practical skills in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems.
- Ability to identify faults and communicate issues clearly to supervisors and colleagues.
- Experience supporting qualification and acceptance testing, including documentation of results.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
- Willingness to travel and support flight trials in the UK and abroad, with flexibility in working hours.
- Understanding of flight readiness processes and ground support for avionics systems.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and product compliance processes in aerospace.
- Comfortable engaging with customers, stakeholders, and auditors in a professional manner.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience with experimental or prototype aircraft programmes.
- Knowledge of aerospace regulations, avionics maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with ground support equipment and flight-line operations.
- Experience providing design-for-maintenance input from an avionics perspective.
- Exposure to structured test documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
