We are currently looking for a Ground maintenance engineer (aerostructures) to join Prismatic Ltd. based in Alton.
Tasks and Accountabilities
- Support test flight trials inside and outside of UK, specifically preparing aerostructure for flight
- Identify a problem, interact with the right stakeholders and provide a solution through utilisation of their practical scientific / engineering background whilst working as a team member, or as an unsupervised individual
- Contribute to the generation of test plans, organising and presenting at test readiness review boards
- Support qualification and acceptance testing, recording/analysing results, presenting at test review boards and generating end item data packs
- Contribute to work packages and present results to managers and peers
- Work with Lead System Engineer to ensure flight readiness
- Run test procedures, collect data, and write up technical reports
- Provide input into design from a Flight Ground maintenance perspective
- Support quality and product assurance
- Support internal, external, and customer audit activities
- Engage with customers and key stakeholders.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Background in aerospace engineering, aerostructures, aircraft maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Practical experience in maintaining, preparing, and troubleshooting aerostructures or aircraft systems.
- Strong hands-on skills with composite and metallic structures, assembly, and repair techniques.
- Ability to identify problems, analyse root causes, and provide practical engineering solutions both independently and within a team.
- Experience contributing to or running test procedures, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Familiarity with qualification and acceptance testing, test plans, and review boards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to support test flight trials in the UK and internationally, with flexibility for travel and irregular schedules.
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and adherence to aerospace standards.
- Ability to engage professionally with customers, auditors, and key stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience supporting experimental flight trials, research programmes, or prototype aerospace projects.
- Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements, safety standards, and flight-line operations.
- Experience in generating test documentation, end-item data packs, or certification reports.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles and providing design-for-maintenance feedback.
- Exposure to internal/external audits or customer compliance processes.
